Rest In Peace

I was sad to hear Elizabeth Edwards lost her courageous battle with cancer. I never had the pleasure of meeting her but wanted to share what I wrote several years ago in my book prior to the last presidential election as I went down the list of possible candidates..."One of the best things about John Edwards is his wife Elizabeth. She's his closest advisor, and pretty much everyone agrees that she's fantastic." My sincerest condolences to her family and all of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.

She was a wonderful human being, wife, mother and friend. She left this world the compassion and love in her heart. She will be deeply missed.

Mr. Iacocca,

I am sure you don't remember me. You met me when I was a young boy cleaning houses with my mother. You came to McLean, VA for a Dukakis fund raiser at the Potomac House and my mother and I were working there.

At that time I was about 12 yrs old and I remember thinking to myself 'WOW, Lee Iacocca'. Our family had immigrated from Portugal and my mother didn't speak english well, however you treated her and I kindly and we never forgot it.

You signed our copy of Lee Iacocca and that day my mother told me about your family and how they came to America. We talked about hard work and becoming success in America and I never forgot it.

I know lead MFG R&D for a third of large aerospace and defense contractor. I am preparing for an MBA interview and one of the questions was 'who is the CEO you most admire?"

So I am going to talk about you and the kindness you showed to relativey obscure people when you were bringing about great change at Chrysler.

Thank You very much for your great example and I hope to follow in your foot steps - brining about a great change in the world and extending hope and kindness to all I meet.
